The American Sommelier Association is a non-profit, national organization comprised of local chapters throughout the United States. Depending on their size and location, chapters conduct classes, meetings, organized tastings and social events supporting wine education and the enjoyment of wine. Chapters are also devoted to improving the level of wine service in their local area by:

	Raising the level of wine knowledge of the local wine community through education and training.
	Offering sommelier certification for qualified candidates via the highly respected Certificate Course Series.
	Providing long distance learning opportunities and live courses in selected cities.
	Providing a local forum for a dialogue about wine.
	Developing a thriving “wine community”
	Promoting the enjoyment of wine!
